Krystal Goff is a Project Manager in Healthcare IT, where she leads initiatives that enhance workflows and implement innovative technology solutions. She oversees large-scale, cross-departmental projects that align with the organization’s strategic goals. Alongside her corporate career, Krystal is also a real estate investor, embarking on her first land development and new construction project, combining her skills in project management with a passion for long-term financial growth.

What's your backstory, and how did you get into your industry?
After moving back home from college, I wasn’t sure what career path to take. As a new mother and single parent, my priority was stability and providing for my daughter, so I focused on benefit packages over salary. I accepted a low-paying entry-level role at a healthcare organization and worked my way up to where I am today.
As my family grew—now a proud mom of two—I realized I couldn’t rely on just one source of income. With kids eating through my pockets (if you know, you know), I began researching ways to build wealth and found my passion in real estate development.

How did you land your current role?
Starting from an entry-level position, I made a commitment to continuously develop myself by seeking out challenges, learning new skills, and fostering strong relationships within my organization. My persistence and dedication allowed me to earn opportunities to take on larger responsibilities, eventually leading to my current role as an enterprise IT Project Manager.
What has helped you the most in continuing to move up in your career?
Prioritizing growth and relationships has been key. I’ve always embraced challenges as opportunities to learn, sought mentorship from others, and maintained a strong work ethic. Staying adaptable and open to change has also helped me navigate my career path successfully.
How do you avoid burnout?
I focus on staying balanced by carving out time for the things that matter most to me, like my daughters, self-care, and personal passions like cooking and traveling. I set boundaries and allow myself space to recharge when needed, ensuring I can give my best in both work and life.

How do you prioritize a good work-life balance?
For me, balance starts with knowing my priorities. I make time for my family, close friends, and personal growth while ensuring I deliver on my professional responsibilities. Planning and being intentional about how I spend my time helps me create space for what truly matters.
What have been the most influential books, podcasts, or other resources?
I’ve found tremendous value in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey, which emphasizes personal development and fostering meaningful connections. Podcasts like The Mindset Mentor offer motivation and practical tips for staying focused and resilient. I also enjoy Raising Good Humans for insights into parenting with intention.
What advice would you give to someone who wanted to pursue the same path as you?
Be patient with your growth and willing to learn along the way. Take ownership of your journey by seeking opportunities to develop your skills and deliver value. Never hesitate to ask questions or build connections—those relationships can open doors you didn’t know existed.
What are you the most proud of?
I’m most proud of my two daughters. They are my biggest motivators and the reason I work so hard. Raising them while pursuing my career and personal goals has been the most rewarding challenge of my life.
